The challenge
The children from the orphan village have been reunited with their family or have been adopted by adoptive parents. They often live there in great poverty. A sponsor plan has been set up to support them. Thanks to this help, the family can buy food, pay school costs and possibly medical expenses.
Response
The sponsor plan means that you, as (Dutch) sponsor parent(s), will be assigned an orphan. You support the child every month by contributing €25.
Sister Emilienne visits the children regularly and gives advice to the parents. She tries, together with all those involved, to guide the orphans as well as possible in their lives after the orphan village. When a child does not thrive in the family, a solution is sought, together with the responsible authority. Fortunately, most children are doing well and many of them now have a family and an income their selves.
