The challenge
Youth has the future! The sisters in Rwanda also try to help this age group. It is important to strengthen their independence, to enable them to start their own business or start other meaningful actions. Access to vocational training is also essential. Another essential aspect is access to vocational training.
Response
Vocational training
To help young people strengthen their independence, the Small Projects fund was set up from which short practical training courses are paid for young people who prefer to work with their hands rather than their head. These training courses usually take one year and offer employment opportunities.
After successfully completing the training and the related internship, the young people will receive help with the purchase of the necessary material to start working.
Several young people have completed a training with the help of this fund, for example as a restaurant employee, car mechanic, seamstress. It is nice to see how they find their place. For example, Kobwa has a place in a sewing workshop of a cooperative, where she makes clothing to order with her own sewing machine.
