Thanks to donations from the Netherlands and Germany, a reliable water supply could be established, for which the sisters are, of course, very grateful!
During the dry periods, it became clear that the water source drilled near a river did not provide enough water, so a solution had to be found. The sisters discovered that there was an unused pump not far from their property. After receiving permission from the local authorities, this pump was repaired, and now water flows in abundance! So much so that the small plots of farmland cultivated by people from the surrounding area can also benefit from it!
In order to use the water from the pump, for example as drinking water, an additional water filter is highly needed.
Repeated water tests consistently show a high salt content and the presence of other substances that make the water unsuitable for cooking, washing, and drinking. If this continues, the water source will unfortunately be of limited benefit, especially during the dry season. As a result, the sisters may have to pay a high bill for water from the public water company.
The filter must be placed in a brick housing built especially for this purpose.
The total cost of the housing and the filter is approximately €7,000.
Your help is needed to make this filter possible.
Donations can be made using the button at the bottom of this page, or via the form on the general donation page.
The water supply on the sisters’ property continues to require careful attention, especially now that there are two school buildings. Fortunately, during the rainy season there is enough rainfall, which is collected in reservoirs and used for the toilets, cleaning, the garden, and so on. Additional rainwater reservoirs were installed in 2024.!
Because all systems require regular maintenance, donations continue to be welcome. If you are willing to help, please indicate below:
